How to choose a slow feeder bowl for your dog
A slow feeder bowl adds ridges or compartments to a feeding surface. Different shapes offer different levels of difficulty, so choose around your dog’s size and eating habits rather than appearance alone.
Start with the fit
Check the bowl’s dimensions and capacity against your dog’s normal meal. Your dog should be able to reach the food comfortably. Look at the manufacturer’s guidance for the product you are considering.
Keep the first session simple
Introduce a small amount of their usual food and supervise. If your dog seems frustrated or starts chewing the bowl, stop and reassess whether the shape is suitable.
Make cleaning part of the choice
